Outsource Marketing Manager

Your dedicated Marketing Manager without the price tag of a fulltime solution

Many small and medium sized businesses may not need a fulltime Marketing Manager. Your team may carry out the day to day marketing tasks but need the guidance of an experienced marketing professional to manage your marketing and drive it at a strategic level.

You get the best of both worlds – an expert and experienced senior marketing professional, ready to hit the ground running and dedicated to growing your business, but without the cost or long term commitment.

Benefits

As a highly experienced marketing professional, I bring fresh ideas and the latest in marketing best practice to your business.
I am flexible in my approach and so I can get involved in whatever way suits you and for whatever number of hours suit you. This can adapt to the current needs of your business.
You are not tied to a set retainer or a set time period of employment.

The type of work I do

What I will cover will depend on your starting point as well as the skill level of your team. I will often start by carrying out market research and developing a marketing strategy to clearly set out the way forward for the business.

I then manage the execution of the strategy, either implementing the marketing actions myself or together with your team. These can include managing the development of a new or upgraded website (together with your web developer), working on social media marketing, email marketing, PR and managing events.

Case Study : Sterval

Sterval is Ireland’s main supplier of decontamination solutions to both public and private hospitals and other healthcare environments.

The Challenge: The team at Sterval comprises engineers and support staff who are expert in their area. In 2018, they decided to increase their focus on marketing in order to grow their customer base and support the recent launch of additional new products.

With limited marketing expertise in-house, they looked at the solution of bringing in a senior experienced marketing professional on a flexible basis, to achieve this.

The Solution: I worked with Sterval over a period of 18 months to research and develop a marketing strategy for the business and then work, together with their team, in implementing it.

After familiarising myself with the products and services of the business, as well as their approach to customer service, I carried out indepth interviews with a sample of their customers, CDU Managers and others responsible for purchasing decontamination equipment for their hospitals. The outcome of this research clearly confirmed the competitive advantage Sterval enjoys, why their customers stay with them and what would convince potential new customers to choose Sterval as their supplier.

One of the main objectives of the research was to identify the most effective ways of reaching and engaging with these very busy buyers, so that Sterval could focus their resources on marketing channels, content and tactics that delivered results in terms gaining new customers as well as retaining existing ones.

A marketing strategy informed by the outcome of this research set out a clear path to achieve their marketing goals.

I then worked, together with their team, over the following year to implement the strategy across their online presence, including website and email marketing as well as arranging educational events, promotional material etc.

Results: By taking their marketing to the next level, they have solidified their brand in the Irish market and expanded their customer base across their product ranges
